I have set my house
On the bones of I Am's covenants,
Where tongues of fire swirl
In sacred convocation.
The devil came,
In the fine linen of a stockbroker,
Pitching shares of darkness,
Bidding for my soul's equity —
But my spirit's ink
Refused to sign.
I, carved clay, clad bone,
Bearer of heaven's eternal vision,
Cannot liquidate my essence
On the altar of sly tongues.
God’s word sits in my marrow
As councils in courts,
Syllabic decree,
Phrasic currency.
The shrill hiss of the adversary,
“You cannot be CEO
In God’s Companies —
You, salt in earth's wound,
You, feather in the storm.”
But I wear storms' garments,
I swallow tempests' wine,
Where oracles of men stutter,
I thunder in divine dialects.
I have shares
In the eternal economy—
dreams outlive tombs
And Bones holds board meetings.
Don't you see?
The rejected stones on seats
At tables of dominion.
I was named in the scroll with no seal
Before, Clay held breath.
No liquidation,
No soul auction at midnight bazaars.
I am the CEO of God's company,
Bearer of light in equity,
Shareholder at dawn's reality,
Director of eternal sickles and barns.
My spirit will not sign
The devil’s liquidation form.
Not now.
Not ever.
