I woke up this morning wondering how we got to this cul de sac. In 1999, @officialABAT claimed he attended St. John's Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos, before proceeding to Children Home School in Ibadan. According to him, his next port of call in his educational journey was Government College Ibadan and, Richard Daley College and Chicago State University in the United States. Curiously, in 2023, Tinubu settled with attending only @ChicagoState. I am scratching my head. How is that possible? Methi...
My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the soldiers killed in Niger State as their loved ones are laid to rest today. May their souls and the souls of other patriots who have paid the supreme prize in the quest to keep us protected and safe rest in peace. May their memories be a blessing. I pray that their labour for the fatherland will never be in vain. -AA
Every life is precious, and every loss, especially for the affected people, is irreplaceable. That's why we must take preemptive actions to stem losses from avoidable situations. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who may have lost their loved ones from the tragic collapse of a building on Lagos Street in Abuja following last night's downpour. May their families be comforted, and their souls rest in peace. In the last couple of days, we've witnessed torrential downpours. Th...
On behalf of my family, I extend our warmest wishes to His Eminence, Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, on the occasion of his 67th birthday. May the Almighty Allah bestow upon you robust health and greater wisdom to continue guiding the Muslim faithful in our beloved nation. -AA
Today, I met with support group leaders and coordinators of Atiku Support Organisation (ASO), @AAsupportOrg , led by its National Coordinator, Mr Abdulrahman Abdulraheem. We discussed the state of affairs of our nation. We also committed to answering the patriotic call to finish what we've started to the benefit of our nation and its people. -AA
Yesterday, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, Founder of Maryam Abacha American University, honoured me with a visit. He showcased the licenses granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the operation of two esteemed institutions: the Franco-British University in Kaduna and the Canadian University of Nigeria in Abuja. This is indeed a welcome development for our education sector. -AA
Today, I received a high-powered delegation from the International Union of Universities (IUU), led by Prof. Mohammed Kher AlGabani. They extended an invitation for me to be the guest speaker at the Romania Forum for Economic and Cultural Exchange, an event organised by the IUU set to take place later this year. I was deeply humbled by their kind words; they recognised my contributions as a successful businessperson and leader. Additionally, they acknowledged my meaningful investments in the a...

May your 82nd year be filled with robust health, unwavering strength, and further service to our nation. We cherish your enduring legacy and wish you many more fulfilling years ahead. Happy 41st Birthday to Hon. Halima Zubairu Danbatta. A patriot and a quintessential entrepreneur who has brilliantly harnessed skill development, politics, and vocational empowerment to chart the course for the new generation of Nigerian youths. I wish you many more years of vitality and service to Nigeria and humanity. —AA
I have just been briefed about the passing of Muhammad Dakat. As Director General of the National Solidarity Movement for Atiku/Okowa (NSM), Muhammad brought a huge dose of enthusiasm and inspiration to the assignment of mobilising compatriots in the last general election. Even after the election, he was unwavering in his commitment to the cause. Muhammad was a rallying point for young people and a natural leader who led by his convictions and personal example. We have lost one of the most Atiku...
Today, I had the honor of hosting the @MalalaFund team in Nigeria, led by Ms. Fatima Askira, @Fatiskira, to engage in discussions about possible collaboration opportunities between the American University of Nigeria, @AUNigeria , and the Malala Fund. Our shared goal is to enhance access to education for girls and ensure inclusive education for all. It deeply saddens me that education has faced significant challenges in Nigeria. To address this, I established the Atiku Abubakar Foundation, whi...
The death of Ambassador Kayode Laro is a blow to Nigeria's diplomatic corps as he was one of the most trained and experienced hands we have in the Nigerian Foreign Service. The vacuum left by his death as Ambassador to France is a hard one to fill, especially at this time, as we insist that diplomacy remains the primary tool in the arsenal of Nigeria towards finding peace within our borders and with our neighbours. May his soul rest in peace. -AA
On this International Youth Day 2023, we recognise the immense potential of young minds, especially in Nigeria. Their commitment to acquiring green skills not only benefits us as a country but charts the course for global sustainability. I urge that even as we celebrate this day, let’s continue supporting and collaborating with these young visionaries to ensure a brighter, greener future for all. -AA #IYD2023
It is with grief and sadness that I received news of the collapse of a part of Zaria Central Mosque and the death of some worshippers observing the Asr Prayer this (Friday) evening. I commiserate with the families that may have lost a loved one, the congregants of the mosque and the Emir and good people of Zazzau Emirate Council over the unfortunate incident. It is my fervent prayer that Allah, the Gracious and the most Merciful, will grant the deceased eternal peace and comfort their familie...
Yesterday, I welcomed a delegation from the minority opposition parties in the House of Representatives, led by the Minority Leader, Hon. Kingsley Chinda, along with the Minority Whip, Hon. Dr. Ali Isah, and the Deputy Minority Whip, Hon. George Ozodinobi. We engaged in a comprehensive discussion regarding the state of our nation, focusing on how our legislative agenda, as opposition parties, can enhance the well-being of our citizens. -AA
Earlier today, I joined other leaders and stakeholders of our esteemed party, @OfficialPDPNig , including my Vice Presidential candidate, Dr @IAOkowa , Governors, and members of the PDP NWC. This meeting provided an opportunity for us to examine the current state of our nation carefully and to thoughtfully articulate a pathway forward from the critical crossroads at which we presently find ourselves. -AA
The planned exit of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) from Nigeria after more than five decades of doing business in Nigeria underscores how horrific the environment has become for both local and foreign businesses. Sadly, many international firms have, in recent times, sold their assets and bid farewell to Nigeria after several years of operating in our country. These exits have led to further loss of jobs in an environment that is already bleeding jobs. We need to do a lot more not only to encourage in...
The military intervention in the Republic of Niger has created tension across the West Africa sub-region, and it is a development that has caused international attention to that neighbouring country of ours. The putsch is even more worrisome because the number of states that have witnessed military intervention in the last three years in the subregion is increasing. Of course, the world expects Nigeria to take up leadership in ensuring that the crisis of political leadership in the Republic of...
Happy 62nd birthday to @PeterObi, a respected leader and distinguished former governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate of the Labour Party. Your dedication to service and growth continues to inspire. As you add another year today, I, on behalf of my family and team wish you many more years in good health and vitality. -AA
I congratulate Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on this year’s celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festival. The significance of the festival that we are celebrating today is about the profitability of being patient with God in our affairs as human beings, and most especially, as Muslims. I urge and remind Muslims of the obligation to follow the noble examples of Prophets Ibrahim (AS) and Muhammad (SAW) by being kind and generous to the people around them. The scriptures on all prophets of...
My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Hon. Idirissu Amin over the loss of their patriarch. Amin was a long-standing political ally in Adamawa. With him, there are no dull moments. He was an amiable, loyal, and fearless politician who never waivers once committed to a cause. His service to the people of Maiha Local Government Council of Adamawa State is indelible. On behalf of my family, I wish to express my deepest condolences to his family and the people of the Maiha local ...

I am saddened by reports of the loss of scores of lives in a boat mishap on the River Niger on Monday. It is even more heartbreaking that the victims were wedding guests returning to Kwara State from the neighbouring Niger State, where they had gone for a wedding ceremony at the weekend. These deaths call for a deep reflection on the need to improve our infrastructure, especially inland waterways and inter-state linkages, to forestall such unfortunate incidences that have become a frequent occu...
On this occasion of Democracy Day, it is time for us to reflect as a people and a country on our journey to becoming a democratic society. For Nigerians who were around during the dark days of military dictatorships, it is important that we appreciate the successes that we have achieved in making democracy the norm of politics in Nigeria. But democracy without a corresponding commitment to the principles of fairness and fidelity to the rule of play by stakeholders in conducting elections still l...
It is with grief and a deep sense of loss that I received the sad news of the death of Sheikh Nasir Muhammad, the Chief Imam of Fegge Juma'at Mosque in Kano. Although Sheikh, popularly known as Limamin Waje, died at the ripe age of 87, he will be sorely missed by all because of his enormous contributions to Islamic preachings and humanity at large. Sheikh Limamin was a dogged fighter and a peacemaker. On behalf of my family and my team, I wish to commiserate with his immediate family, the Kano ...
