The Yobe State Government, under the leadership of H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, has sponsored the Agric Show and exhibition, which will give each local government area the opportunity to showcase its resources, minerals, and seeds.
This exhibition will encourage business expansion and modernization of agricultural activities, improve trade systems, and give local governments the opportunity to showcase their prowess in the agricultural and creative sectors.
The kickoff of the event was held today, Mon., 5th, May, 2025, at Damaturu, the Yobe State Capital, which was hosted by the Yobe State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources.
While the Yobe State Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Ali Mustapha Goniri, speaking on behalf of the governor of Yobe State, commended the efforts of the Yobe State Governor to improve agricultural practices and transform them.
"We must commend the efforts of the governor of Yobe State in restoring the dignity of agriculture and livestock following the security he has ensured in Yobe State.
"This event was postponed following the security threat for nineteen (19) years, which Governor Buni has now brought back to us, and we are confident that its return will encourage us to be more committed to agriculture.
"Governor Buni's objective in bringing back this event will have an impact on creating economic balance, as there will be competition between local government areas of the state to ensure the quality of agriculture and the creation of innovations that can transform the structure of agriculture not only in Yobe State." Said Hon. Goniri, commissioner of the state ministry of agriculture
