A delegation from Yobe State is in Indonesia this week on a strategic fact-finding mission to advance the development of the Mai Mala Buni College of Integrated Science (MMB-CIS), a flagship project initiated by Governor Mai Mala Buni.
The visit underscores the state's commitment to establishing a world-class institution in Damaturu that will offer a unique educational model combining scientific innovation with ethical leadership.
The delegation's agenda included high-level meetings with officials from Indonesia's Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology; the talks focused on potential collaboration in curriculum development, digital education solutions, and faculty training programs.
To understand a model that aligns with the college's core vision, the team also visited the University of Qur'anic Studies in Jakarta. There, they observed the institution's approach to integrating a values-based framework with modern academic disciplines.
"The goal is to build an institution that produces graduates who are not only technically proficient but also morally grounded," a delegation representative stated. "This international engagement is critical for adopting globally recognized standards from the outset."
The proposed MMB-CIS is a central part of the Yobe State government's broader educational reform agenda, designed to provide youth with the skills to compete in a global economy while reinforcing community values.
