The World Bank has commended Gov. Buni and awarded the Yobe State Government with the prize of N5 billion for fiscal discipline.
The World Bank, under "State Fiscal Transparency Accountability and Sustainability Programme From Results (SFTAS)," has ranked Yobe State tate as first state to spend public funds in a proper manner without any irregularities, which is why it has recognized the state, and the state has won this year’s N5 billion prize.
The Yobe State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency the Executive Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA, CON, COMN, is committed to ensuring the welfare of the state’s residents by investing in health, agriculture, livestock, education, and other sectors of the state’s development, including modern infrastructure projects that will be in line with modern technologies.
Yobe State has enjoyed unprecedented economic, social, and political stability under the leadership of His Excellency the Executive Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA CON COMN.
A statement issued by the World Bank stated:
"Under the SFTAS assessment, our bank has confirmed that Yobe State is the first in preserving public assets and spending them in a proper manner to invest in the lives of the people to improve their future among the 36 states of Nigeria.
“This is also why the state won the prize of N5 billion offered this year.” The bank’s statement said
Governor Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, is committed to improving the lives of the people, especially the youth, to ensure the well-being of the residents of the state in an appropriate manner.
