Why the Tortoise has a Cracked Shell

Long time ago, the tortoise and all the birds lived happy and free on ground. Tortoise has a wife, Nwambe. She was the pride of his heart even though they have no children.
Onr day the king of the sky called for a feast for all animals on ground. He sent an invite to the birds of the air and all winged animals. On hearing about the great feast prepared by the king of the sky, Tortoise reached out to Mr. Eagle to request to be part of the attendees. The eagle scoffed and laughed, "How would you even fly across the skies to feast with the great king seeing that you have no wings?"
Tortoise responded, "I'll plead with the rest of the birds to lend me a feather so I could attach to my shell and fly." The eagle agreed.
One by one, Tortoise met the birds and pleaded with them to give him a feather which they gladly obliged and Tortoise was able to fly to meet the feast prepared by the King of Sky.
The time for the feast came....
