Where did we miss it, the thread so fine,
The bond that once made your heart and mine?
We walked as one through fields of light,
Now shadows linger where there was bright.
Was it the silence we let grow wide,
The unspoken fears we tried to hide?
Or words left sharp, like blades they tore,
The bridges burned, the open door?
