The screens portrayed, a tale so bold,
The rich as villains, with hearts of cold.
Mean, proud, and oppressive, they'd have us believe,
But is this narrative, a truth?

In reality, it's often the ones in need,
Who strive for power, and plant seeds of greed.
They oppress their own, in a desperate quest,
For superiority and a fleeting sense of authority.

The poor, in their struggle, can become so cold,
Their hearts hardened, their souls grown mean.
They trample others, to rise above the pain, their insecurities,
And in their desperation, they perpetuate the strain.

Meanwhile, the wealthy, in their ivory towers high,
Mind their own business, with a distant sigh.
Not caring, not judging, just living their lives,
While the poor are left, to fuel their endless strife.

The masks we wear, hide our true design,
The villains among us, not always what the narratives paint.
beyond the surface level disguise,
Is a truth we can see, only if we choose to see that,
Most times, it is our own that kill us,
Because they know how to bury us.

The poem really makes you think about how systemic inequalities work. It's interesting that while the wealthy seem oblivious, those in need are fighting harder but often end up harming themselves by trampling others. The masks we wear do hide a lot, and it’s scary to see how much we rely on them. Maybe if more people could challenge societal norms instead of swallowing the same old lies, things would change for the better. Food banks and shelters always make me think about how far we can go before we break. It's a heavy topic but definitely something that deserves attention.

The poem makes an interesting point about how different people can be on either side. It's like they're saying we all have our shadows and flaws no matter where you look. Maybe that's why we can't stop loving each other despite it.
