WHAT ARE YOU IF YOU ARE NOT USEFUL?

What are you if you’re not useful?
Just flesh with a schedule,
A voice full of opinions,
A spine that’s not flexible.
You wake up each morning owing the day,
Yet run from responsibility, ducking the pay.
You master the skill of vanishing fast
Whenever commitment walks into your path.
You flee from duty like it’s a disease,
Allergic to pressure, offended by needs.
You drop every load for someone to bear,
Then brag about freedom while leaving despair.
You want every crown but hate the weight,
Want success served warm on a silver plate.
You praise the builders, cheer from afar,
But won’t lift a brick, still claim you’re a star.
You shout about storms you never endured,
About hunger you watched, never once cured.
You curse the chaos, blame the design,
Ignoring the part where you chose to recline.
You breathe, yes but breathing’s not worth,
A life that contributes nothing to earth.
Existence alone is a debt overdue,
A loan from the world you never came through.
One day your name will echo in rooms,
Not sung, not praised just followed by “whom?”
They’ll ask why you stood where the brave once stood
And chose to be missing when being there mattered most… and you could.
So answer me plainly, no ego, no ruse:
What are you really if you’re not useful?
Not broken.
Not lost.
Not tragically deep.
Just running
and hoping purpose gets too tired to keep up
