Expressed grief over the loss of property they got as a result of the fire outbreak.
The executive chairman of the Potiskum local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, assured the timber merchants that he will provide them with support at the local government level, and he will officially call on emergency aid agencies such as NEMA, SEMA, and NEDC to also support them.
The chairman made this call while he was visiting the new Timber Market to sympathise with the businessmen who lost their property due to the fire outbreak that happened in the {Mai Mala Buni new timber market} in the Potiskum local government area.
"We made a special trip to come and pay our condolences to you and express our condolences for this fire incident that happened to our traders.
"Of course, as i used to say, the market is the community because the market is not only for the traders; the market is for the benefit of the entire people because the market is a place of pride for everyone, so if things happen to the traders, it happens to all of us, so let's get together and comfort each other.
"I assure you that we will do our part to help as a local government, and we will send an official letter to NEDC, SEMA, and NEMA to come and ease the pain of this loss." Hon. Salisu Muktari added
On the part of the acting chairman of the joint association of marketers, "United Marketers Association" (UMAPO), Potiskum Chapter, Alh. Ibrahim Abubakar Yayangida expressed his happiness and sorrow to see how the chairman of the local government has stood firm to protect and ensure the reputation of the traders in the local government area.
"We have nothing to thank our chairman, Hon. Salisu Muktari, because it was with his help that our business and businessmen stood on their feet again.
"We are very happy with the special visit to comfort us, and thank you for his unparalleled contribution to us.
