The executive governor of Yobe State, H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, has declared that action must be taken to curb drug abuse and trafficking that has plagued the Nigerian states to save the lives of our youths.
The governor made this declaration while engaging with Yobe State key stakeholders on Monday, July 7th, 2025, at Wawa Hall, Government House, Damaturu, aiming to strengthen health across Yobe State.
The governor also called on traditional leaders, religious leaders, and local government chairmen to join hands to curb drug abuse and trafficking that has plagued the northern states and become a major challenge to the peace and stability of the good people of the northern part of the country.
"We must take urgent action to curb the rise of drug abuse and trafficking and take decisive action to save the lives of our youth and the future of our state.
"There is a great danger associated with drug abuse that threatens the peace and stability of our states in Northern Nigeria." He said
The measure will play a significant role in curbing the majority of terrorist activities that threaten the existence of social peace in Northern Nigeria.
The governor has shown foresight and vision in taking action to curb drug dealing and trafficking across Yobe State.
