The executive governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, assured the IOM delegation that his government has created a framework that will improve the lives of the community and facilitate the resettlement of displaced people across Yobe State.

The executive governor made the remarks during a joint meeting with the IOM group, where the DG Press and Media Affairs of His Excellency Governor Mamman Mohammed posted on his Facebook page that the governor confirmed that his government is ready for the partnership, but there is no refugee camp left across Yobe State.

The governor also confirmed that his government has allocated 5.0% out of 100% of this year's budget to improve the lives of displaced people and provide them with basic services.

“We are happy with this partnership, and I assure you that our government has invested heavily in education, agriculture, health, roads, electricity, and drinking water to modernize and strengthen the lives of our people under this administration.

“I am happy with your enthusiasm to work in partnership with our government to help the lives of the people. I assure you again that we do not have any refugee camps left in Yobe State because we have resettled them in safety and dignity, which is a matter of pride and thought for us.” He said

On their part, the IOM Chief Representative also commended Governor Buni for his commitment to ensuring that the problems of refugees in Yobe State are addressed.

“We highly commend you for your efforts to resettle the refugees in Yobe State. This shows that you are a leader with a special heart and show great concern for the problems of the people after resettling the refugees with dignity.” Sharon said

Also, Sharon reiterated IOM's commitment to partner with the Yobe State government to improve the lives of the good people of Yobe State.
