Was Jesus Delusional?

How could someone come to the scene and speak all the words that Jesus said? Was he delusional? How dare him say that he is one with God? That is not even offensive enough. He said more dangerous things. For example, Jesus said, “Eat my flesh and drink my blood; anyone who does not eat my flesh and drink my blood, does not have life.” What an audacious statement! He also said if the temple is destroyed, he will rebuild it in three days. One day, He boldly declared, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me.”

I want to believe that the people of his day were patient with him, they didn’t corner him and gave him the beatings of his life. His friends didn’t betray him enough. If it were now, he wouldn't only have contended with Judas, but each of those disciples except John, they would have locked him up after some several flogging. But was Jesus deluded? Was He saying words from wisdom or was he deranged?

I believe that Jesus was everything he said he was. He wasn't an ordinary man. No ordinary man speaks like that. He spoke but his actions were confirmations. Could you see how he dispatched those mobs who were going to lynch that woman, or how he changed the life of that blind man or even how He visited Zacchaeus? These are not the actions of a mindless man.

If all Jesus did was speak, I wouldn't have attached any seriousness to his words, but he acted. Acts that were as loud as his words. Therefore, I would like to ask the people who may be offended by the words of Jesus, if his words offend you, would you say the same of his actions?

The boldness of His words and actions together paint a picture of Someone extraordinary. It's hard to deny the impact He had on those around Him.

Hmm, you know what they say about words versus deeds? I’d say he checked out! His actions were just as shocking and audacious as his words. If anything, it goes to show how much he impacted the people around him. They weren’t just sitting there passively; they were actively involved in his life. Jesus was everything he said he was, and his followers followed where he went. That’s pretty wild. I don't think people could take him seriously if he wasn’t doing something radical every day. His words might have been bold, but the deeds were even more so.

Thank you, Hausman. Jesus was both audacious in words and actions. He was simply quintessential.
