📍IBADAN CITY, NIGERIA
DAY 22 - IBADAN CITY, OYO STATE, NIGERIA
"Is Ibadan even a city?", I asked my Oyo-born friend and he was like, "What! You know God lives there."
Funny as it may sound, you may have good reasons to want to settle in Ibadan. In comparison to the neighbouring city of Lagos, Ibadan may have lesser job opportunities and high class connections but when it comes to richness in the Yoruba culture, beautiful landscape and a lower cost of living, Ibadan, I would say, is a better choice. And of course, Ibadan is full of people and life. It's the marketplace of Nigerian cultural items at affordable prices. Houses are cheaper too even when it is considered a city.
Oyo State in Nigeria has Ibadan as its capital city and it is renown for its vibrant atmosphere, historical landmarks, and rich cultural heritage. It's the second city after Lagos in the southwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria. It became prominent in the early 19th century, making itself, one of the most desirable cities to reside in the country since its inception in 1829. In terms of geographic size, it is the largest city in Nigeria welcoming people of every tribe, tongue and colour.
