Nigeria has many tribes and languages.
Mostly, it is grouped in three common spoken languages that is Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa.
Each tribe and languages has it own unique culture and traditions.
I was born and grew up In the Western part of Nigeria. Yoruba was the language spoken even among the children. At home, on the streets, at market places and at school.
Language is something to educate and instil morals and values.
It use should be unique and cherished. Expressions that disciplines, corrects and instructs. Most languages has Proverbs and idioms used to instruct and teach life lessons.
The neighbourhhood where I live, I was forced to learn the language and read it at high school.
The manner it was spoken was not in the correct way as I was being taught at school. The children spoke not to adopt discipline and good morals. They use it in an abusive way. They do not cherish their cultures in the manner they spoke. And so they involve themselves in bad conduct and lifestyle. Most youths which I heard do not believe in making a living by holding on to education and moral instructions.
The yoruba language is being badly abused and need to be corrected. I hear them speaking about doing bad things like taking other people things, ruining marriages, killing others, making life miserable for some. And some boast as though being superior over others.
I tried hard to understand and only the older women whom spoke friendly sometimes a bit. Though they lived simple lives and worry less. They value their neighbors and like family relationships, being married, having children and wealth.
