USE OF GRAMMAR!

Last year, when I was rounding off my last mentoring session with my students, I asked a question.

"How do I know a good writer?".

Immediately, I saw someone typing in the group and in a few seconds, there was a message.

"A good writer is someone who speaks good English and is able to write compelling stories", the answer stated.

Was that wrong? Absolutely not!

But you see, most Writers do not like to speak, especially in public. Some enjoy the company of their mind, more than anything else.

This is why people tag Writers as being proud but that's totally far from the case because there's absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying one's own company.

So, how do you know a good writer?
Or how can you be a good writer?

***"The Use of Good Grammar " **

Yes! If you don't enjoy speaking with someone or people, I bet you love to communicate your thoughts through writing.

So, why won't you do that, with good grammar?

I keep saying that, you should understand that your audience are people who are from different career paths, so you shouldn't come out like an illiterate when you're relaying your information.

Avoid making your readers laugh at your errors or even try to correct your diction.

As much as you can, learn the proper use of grammar because it is how you communicate.

Even if you're not writing in English, make sure that the language, you're writing in is quite correct with the right intonation

Your readers need their IQ to be increased when reading your work and not the other way round.

Have a lovely morning!

Yours in Writing,
Pen-Queen Affang.
