UNTANGLE AFRICA'S CHAINS, PLAYING MY PART

O Mother Africa, you stand
Tall among other nations
You are blessed with vast
Lands and natural resources
You are blessed with vast
Cultural heritage and artifacts

O Mother Africa, you who bore
A race who were once the envy
Of many nations, now stand as
A ridicule to many nations
You are now a caricature of
What you used to be

O Mother Africa, you, a free-born
Who stood firm in love and unity
Now entangled with the ropes of
Deception, corruption, tribalism
And religious fanaticism

O Mother Africa, who will break
The strong chains that hold you bound?
Yet I stand feeble as I am with my
Pen playing my part in breaking the
Chains that hold Mother Africa
How can a feeble me break the
Chains that bound Mother Africa?
My words of positivity and
Determination in the face of negativity
Will create a path to the freedom
Of mother Africa

Yet I stand not alone in
This quest of mine
But in oneness with others who
Are like-minded
Together,we shall break the chains
That holds Mother Africa bound

O Mother Africa, smile for your
Light shall shine again
