under the sea
and so they say,
belly of the sea, is blessed
with thousands living specie.
.
sharks swim in detour,
hunting to devour innocent
flesh lacking succour.
.
they say, fish of jelly is
typical to that belly, and other
lives struggling to survive.
.
and so i heard,
belly of the sea is a depth
of history. rich in treasures
of forgotten centuries.
.
and so i was told,
belly of the sea is a dark
pit of mysteries -hoarding
creepy tales so, so eerie.
.
not fable or folklore, oluweri
dwells the wombs of living
waters, which in rising and
falling of tides -splatter.
.
iyemoja is his consort,
keeper of treasures of the
sunken pits. ogbanje, emere,
abiku, are her offsprings.
.
in belly of the sea. in
bottom of it below, blessings
floweth over, upon the cold
palms of marine daughters.
.
they say, who crave child,
who covet luck, who dream of fortune..? cast chalks, colanuts,
alligator pepper upon the sea,
.
and dance in circles, in white
claddings, with bangles around
the ankles. let the goddess
hear the sounds as they dangle.
