Set within the Pretoria West campus of Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), the TUT Stadium may not be a mega-arena, but its role in developing local sports talent is undeniable. The stadium holds around 3,000 spectators and features a grass pitch, often lit for evening matches thanks to its floodlight systems.
Beyond university-level football, the stadium has grown into a reliable fixture on South Africa’s football calendar. It's the current home of Pretoria Callies FC, a National First Division team. The Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies team and TUT Football Club also regularly use the stadium, reinforcing its role as a multi-use sports hub.
Adjacent to the stadium is the TUT Oval, a cricket ground that occasionally hosts domestic matches and practice sessions for promising cricketers. Meanwhile, rugby players benefit from a dedicated field nearby—the FNB Rugby Stadium—adding to the university’s impressive sports infrastructure.
Visitor Tip: While events are often tailored to students and athletes, the public can attend matches, especially when Pretoria Callies or the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies are playing. Arrive early to secure parking and enjoy an authentic local football experience.
