Potiskum local government area is the only one out of the 17 local government areas in Yobe State that has a modern and international standard abattoir following the transformation and modernisation carried out by Hon. Salisu Muktari.
Potiskum LGA is the commercial hub of Yobe State and a local government with a rich history in the agricultural and livestock sectors, which has provided thousands of youths with jobs and other means of self-reliances.
Hon. Salisu Muktari is working tirelessly to improve trade, agriculture, livestock, health, education and other sectors to provide them with peace and stability and to develop the economy and provide the local government with sources of income that can be self-reliant.
In this regard, the chairman renovated the slaughterhouse, namely the Local Government Abattoir, to a unit that generates income for different communities from every part of Potiskum Local Government and Yobe State as a whole, which currently no other local government in Yobe State has an abattoir with a good management system and efficiency like Potiskum Local Government area.
The abattoir is now operating safely with sufficient water, good sanitation and order, which is very effective in improving the health of the good people of Potiskum local government because the abattoir will produce clean meat and reduce environmental pollution by cleaning the air that the people breathe.
The community and experts have praised the chairman for his efforts in reviving the abattoir.
