In sober reflection
The mind is cast upon
Atrocities of the past;
Colonial conquest spilled
A purulent slush, Tụ̀fíàkwà!
Awestruck, Africans stood still.

In the entire twentieth century
Racism and religionism prowled,
Unabated, subjugation is cast
On the African effigy of divinity ,
Lowly indoctrination downsized
The reality of the African Deity.

Sing the lullaby to hypnotize
These siblings to slumber;
Rise, render the line of love,
Fire of renaissance sails aloft
To mend the tragic mood of mind;
Africa, with brevity, resurrects.
