The executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has assured the Potiskum Local Government Area Education Authority (LEA) that they are responsible for bringing about changes to improve education.
The chairman made this pledge while inspecting the ongoing construction of classrooms at Buraima Primary School in Potiskum Local Government Area, where he assured that the authorities responsible for education must play a vital role in ensuring its quality.
"You are responsible for bringing about changes in education sector, and we must join forces to ensure the quality of education in this local government.
"Let us be honest with ourselves; we must stand up and create a community that we can be proud of in the future, because it is our responsibility to provide a quality education system for our people.
"Our door is always open for consultation or any contribution that will ensure the quality of education in our efforts to ensure the commitment of the Yobe State government under the leadership of His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, on education." Hon. Salisu Muktari told E.S Potiskum LEA.
The chairman also confirmed that Governor Buni has played a significant role in bringing about modern systems in education sector in all 17 local government areas of Yobe State, and it is up to us to maintain the systems.
"Governor Buni has played a significant role in improving education; what remains for us is to maintain the system because we do not have an investment that is more effective than education for our lives.' He added.
