There is something about wrapping your hands around a mug that someone actually made with theirs.

The slight unevenness where the thumb pressed in. The glaze that pooled a little thicker on one side. The weight that tells you this was not stamped out of a factory line at 3 AM by a machine that does not care about your morning.

Mass production gives you uniformity. A potter gives you a conversation.
