Today marks the 17th day of the Discover Africa writing season and it's been an interesting getting to discover amazing sites ranging from waterfalls to ancient cities and whole lot more.

Talking about one fascinating site in the Northern part of Africa, particularly, Libya, is the Southern desert of Libya. Strangely this desert houses some interesting structures that I'd love to share with you and I can guess that you've seen title of this already. Let's dive in.

The Valley of Planets (also known as Wan Tkufi) is a mesmerizing natural wonder located in the southern desert of Libya, in the area extending from Hamada to the Ghat heights.

This valley is characterized by its surreal landscape, beautiful, yet naturally sculpted structures that resemble planets and celestial bodies. Amazingly, the artists involved in making this wonder to our world were simply wind erosion.

Don't be surprised by the name "Valley of Planets," it simply stems from their unique, almost extraterrestrial appearance and it's scarcely spoken of in the mainstream media.

Although the remote location and challenging to access its path, the Valley of Planets remains a hidden treasure, attracting explorers, photographers, and nature enthusiasts like you and me.

I haven't visited Libya nor the Valley of Planets but the pictures shared in this post appear so surreal. It's indeed amazing to #DiscoverAfrica and someday #VisitAfrica particularly, the Valley of Planets.
