The thing that always gets me about Francistown Stadium is how the northern energy feels different from Gaborone. It is more raw, more communal. You will see people walking from as far as Monarch or even Aerodrome, just to be there. Traffic becomes chaos about two hours before kickoff, so I always park at the Galo Mall side and walk. Saves the headache.

What nobody talks about is the food scene outside the gates. There are women selling fat cakes and magwinya with soup, and these guys with braai stands that set up right on the gravel. The smell of roasting meat mixes with the dust and the noise. It is an experience in itself. If you go, bring cash. Small bills. The vendors do not have change for anything big.

Seasoned fans know to sit on the western side if you want shade in the afternoon. The sun beats down hard on the eastern stands and you will cook for the first half. Also, the sound from the northern terrace carries the best chants. That is where the real noise comes from. If you want to feel the unity people talk about, stand there for a minute and just listen.

One more thing: after the match, do not rush to leave. The crowd spills out slow, and taxis jack up prices. Walk to the N1 roadside and flag one down there. Way cheaper.

Bro you just took me back. I remember my first time at Francistown stadium I thought the energy was just gonna be like SSKB but nah it hits different. The fat cakes with soup are a whole vibe fr. Never tried the N1 tip for after the game tho I usually just sit in the car and wait it out lol. Might try that next time
