The street is her canvas, a temporary heaven.
A woman so wide she breaks the asphalt line,
her roots uncurl beneath the flood of rain.
Flowers bloom from the dark of her scalp,
children orbit her open arms like satellites.
She is brave enough to be beautiful
for one day, for the glance of a passing bird.
The earth will take her back.
That is the art. The giving. The letting go.

this made me stop scrolling. the line about 'the glance of a passing bird' hit me right in the chest. my grandmother used to draw with chalk on our driveway and it would wash away in the rain and she'd just laugh. your work feels like that same spirit. thank you for sharing this. 4 days ago
