THE STAGE OF FOOLS
by SIMU
A Reflection from the SIMU Collection.

---

We live in a world where everything has been reduced to a joke —
a sprawling stage lit by cheap neon,
with clowns parading from every corner of existence.
Not the harmless kind with painted smiles,
but the kind born of noise, impulse, and half-formed thought.
They stumble into the spotlight with confidence unearned,
each performance louder than the last,
each routine emptier than the one before.

And the crowd?
Ah, the crowd roars.
They clap for the chaos,
cheer for the confusion,
celebrate the spectacle.
Because cheering is easy.
Thinking is hard.
Reflection is a lost art.

Common sense sits at the very edge of the arena,
pushed so far back it can barely see the stage.
It tries to rise, to speak,
but the drums of ignorance drown it out.
Human values stand beside it —
not broken, just ignored,
their gentle voice silenced by the carnival of noise.

Truth…
Truth stands further still,
a lone figure hidden by waving arms and careless laughter.
It watches, patient but weary,
covered in the dust of inconsideration.
Not unseen — just unwelcome.
Because truth demands responsibility,
and responsibility is a burden few wish to carry.

Yet beneath the glittering lights
and the hollow applause
a quiet reality hums:
the show only continues
because we keep clapping.

Stop the applause
and confidence fades.
Dim the spotlight
and masks begin to slip.
Silence the crowd
and every clown must finally hear his own echo —
empty, directionless, unmasked.

And in that rare stillness,
beyond performance and pretense,
the world reveals itself as it should be:
not a circus,
not a stage,
but a reflection of everything we have allowed,
everything we have ignored,
and everything we still have the power
to restore.
