I could hear musicBut I didn’t know what type of musicMaybe it’s from a partyI still searched round and round and roundI kept walking towards the soundThe music sounded good to me earsIt called out to meYet I didn’t know how to replyStill walking and relishing the soundI walked into its sourceIt emanated from a young guySitting in the hot sunJust outside his houseHe was a saxophonistAnd a damn pretty good oneEven though I didn’t know the song he was playing nowI still enjoyed itI gazed upon him and he returned sameI threw away my faceAnd managed a grimaceAs I passed himThe music stoppedIt wasn’t the only that stoppedMy heart didEvery life and flicker of hope disappeared with itJust then something happenedHe played a familiar tune this time“God My Help in Ages Past”It lit up my soul once againAnd brought back life to my lifeThe atmosphere became cool; even in the sunEverywhere became brighter and sparklingAnd then something was there;A flicker of hope;Despair disappeared! The flames of hope rekindled! How didn’t I notice this before! That He was in charge all this whileGod spoke to me through the saxophonistAnd I wished to know them more!
