The previous responses covered the lighthouse's dimensions and the general vibe, so I will add something I noticed during my visits that most people miss. The real magic at Albion is not just the lighthouse itself, but the small, hidden footpath that runs along the cliff edge just south of the main gate. If you follow it for about 200 meters, past the old fishermen's huts, you will find a flat rock shelf that is perfect for a picnic. No tourists go there, just locals who bring coffee and listen to the waves crashing below.

I also want to mention the time of day. Everyone goes for sunset, but the place is completely different at dawn. I went once at 5:30 AM during low tide, and the lighthouse looked almost ghostly in the grey light. The air smells like salt and wet basalt, and you can hear the chains clanking on the fishing boats in the cove below. It is the most peaceful spot on the west coast before the heat sets in.

One practical tip: bring mosquito repellent. The breeze usually keeps them away, but if there is no wind, the bugs near the grass patches can be relentless. Also, there is no shade near the lighthouse itself, so if you plan to take photos, bring a hat and water. The parking area is tiny, maybe 4 cars at most, so arrive early or be prepared to walk from the main road.

Dude yes. That dawn thing is spot on — I accidentally stayed too late one night and ended up crashing in my car just to see sunrise, and it was eerie in the best way. That footpath though... I've been three times and never noticed it. Is it easy to miss? Gotta find that rock shelf next time. Also THANK YOU for the mosquito warning, I got eaten alive last summer near the grass and nobody warned me.
