The executive chairman of Potiskum local government area Hon. Salisu Muktari is currently renovating, restoring and maintaining the Potiskum Local Government Area Secretariat fence.
The renovation and restoration followed a demolition by some unscrupulous people which resulted in an explosion of the fence that even passersby can see into the local government secretariat.
As is the case, improving and safeguarding government assets is part of the chairman's initiatives to safeguard public assets and create a more efficient governance system in Potiskum Local Government Area.
The fence's restoration and upkeep would enhance social circumstances, increase the security of the local government secretariat, and facilitate the seamless daily operations of Potiskum local government workers.
As always, Hon. Salisu Muktari is calling for the preservation of government properties across Potiskum local government area to improve it as a way to protect public assets.
"We must stand up to protect government properties at all levels because the government properties that we see are the divine assets of the people of Potiskum local government area so that if they are damaged, the public money will be used to repair them.
"If we focus on protecting them and the money we spend to build or provide new ones, we can improve health, education and business activities which will directly benefit the people." Said Hon. Salisu Muktari
