The executive governor of Yobe State, H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, is currently constructing a road/asphalt with drainage channels that will connect the Dumbulwa and Lailai areas of the Potiskum Local Government Area.
The Dumbulwa to Lailai is an area in Potiskum Local Government Area that has limited access roads and has been suffering from a lack of drainage channels for a long time; the construction of this road and drainage will be beneficial and bring solutions to many problems in the area.
Despite their being close, accessing each other is very difficult due to the lack of good access roads, which has led to a setback in the economic, educational, business, social, and cultural development of the areas.
The construction of the road that the esteemed governor is currently doing will empower the residents of the area by providing them with a foundation for more education, health, business, and agriculture and revitalizing the value of the area due to the availability of transportation and ease of access and egress due to the improved road.
Governor Buni has taken the initiative to construct over 170 access roads by 2025 across Yobe State, promising to revive the transport sector, improve agriculture, and strengthen the economy of Yobe State, which is one of the items in this year’s budget, with titled the “Budget for Economic Consolidation and Poverty Reduction.”
The good people of the area have expressed their happiness and satisfaction with his leadership.
The resident of the area, Alh. Umaru Potiskum, said;
"We are grateful, happy, and proud to have this road project because the construction of this road will facilitate many things for us, ranging from the health and education of our children to our business activities.” He said
