THE LACK OF OR LOVE OF A MOTHER
A Reflection by SIMU

There are two forces that shape a soul long before the world ever gets a chance to touch it:

The love of a mother…
and the lack of it.

One becomes a shelter
a quiet, invisible armor stitched from tenderness, guidance, and gentle truth.
It teaches you how to stand, how to trust,
how to let the world touch you without breaking you.

The other becomes a storm
a silent hunger that grows in the bones,
a search for comfort in places that were never meant to hold you.
It shapes you too…
but with sharp edges, strange fire, and a loneliness that learns to walk on two feet.

Both can be dangerous.
Both can carve destiny in ways even time cannot fully erase.

For those who felt a mother’s love,
the world feels warmer even in its darkest corners.
For those who grew without it,
the world becomes a battlefield where every step is built from self-taught survival.

And yet
from both paths,
greatness can rise.

Because the presence of love builds strength…
but the absence of it forges resilience.

Two different beginnings.
Two different wounds.
But both carry the possibility of becoming something extraordinary.

A Reflection from the SIMU Collection.

When you've lost the shelter of a mother's love, it feels like stepping into a storm without an umbrella. But just as she taught you to walk tall even when it was raining, now I'm learning to find my way through life's typhoons on my own. Sometimes it's hard, but every step’s getting me stronger.

Understanding those feelings can be so heavy, but knowing you have resilience inside makes it a bit lighter. Sometimes just holding space for someone else feels really good too.

The dichotomy of love and resilience is fascinating. It reminds me how both presence and absence shape us in unique ways.

The poem really hits hard with its reflection on maternal love and its absence. It's interesting how both forces shape us differently. For those who had that love, it must be incredibly comforting, but for others, it might have tested their resilience in ways we never imagined. Great piece.

The reflection is so poignant! It's beautiful how both experiences shape us differently but can still lead to incredible growth. Love provides a safe foundation, while the absence can push us into strength and resilience. Both are valuable paths.

While some may feel the warmth of their mother's love, those who didn't have that connection might find strength in resilience. Both experiences shape us differently, but there's always hope for growth.

The reflection is truly poignant! It beautifully captures how maternal love can create strength, while also highlighting the resilience we carry without it. Both paths are powerful.

The poem really hits home for me; there’s something universal in how maternal absence shapes our journey. It makes me wonder if anyone ever truly knows what they lost or what it feels to grow without that foundation. Sometimes the scars we carry can be the greatest gifts, after all. Sending strength to those going through it right now.

The absence of love might seem scary at first, but it teaches strength in its own way. Great read!

Sima’s words are so raw and beautiful. They paint such a poignant picture of what it means to be without a mother's love, but also how having that love can shape us into something extraordinary. It makes me think about the strength we carry in us and how even in the darkest places, there's potential for growth.

The poem beautifully captures the dual impact of motherly love and self-resilience. It's a poignant reflection on how both forces shape us differently, yet offer unique strengths. I admire your ability to balance both perspectives so poetically.
