Dear Readers,
The moon is soft tonight, and I hope my story finds you well. Grab a coffee!
Once, there lived a captain who had conquered many seas. He could whistle to the waves, and they would heed him, their roars muffled in response. Fierce like Barbossa from "Pirates of the Caribbean," and clever like Jack, he was a pirate who never strayed from the sea.
One day, he declared, "I've lived all my voyages, but one last adventure, one final quest." In his hand lay a very old map, so ancient that it was whispered about among captains, no one ever goes!, an island that cannot not be found.
So, this captain set sail, pushing ahead against the waves, with a few crew members, each with iron hearts. His ship creaked and groaned, a beast of burden it was, while an unnoticed illness lay in the captain's heart, he had a soft glint in his eye, "One last time", he murmured.
Days turned into weeks readers, and then months. The sea was rough, their breads had turned into stones, stale and hard, and water sliced through their tongues, icy. Each crew member longed for the warmth of their beds but kept their thoughts to themselves.
"Ahead!" the captain roared, for he knows in his heart, the quest.
Ere long, for perhaps the rumours were true, nothing happened. No docks, no island, only the quiet, eerie sea. The crew lost hope as a dark cloud covered the sun, nearly swallowing it whole, and water pooled on the decks while the wind howled.
The captain stared at the map, a lost sigh etched across his brow. "Should we turn the sail back home?" a crew member roared above the waves. "I do fear we may be lost forever, Captain!, our breads have grown stale and is nigh exhausted."
"Aye, but we must continue," the captain replied, determined. "Adjust the sails!" The ship tilted as a burst of water splashed over the deck, each board soaked and reeking of dirt. Their muscles strained to keep the ship steady, their voices swallowed by the deep, dark waves. The captain knew the storm would pass as long as they persevered. He roared orders, he was a very old and wise captain .
Dear readers, the sky eventually brightened, the waves calmed, and the sun shone down on the battered crew as they all sat worn on deck.
In the distance, the captain almost missed it, but then he screamed, "Do you see the hills? The golden canopies of a distant island!" Each crew member stood with renewed strength and hope. "Aye, Captain! Aye!"
"Row ahead!" he cried, for he knew in his heart he had found the island that cannot be found.
And what awaits, dear readers? Stay tuned.
