THE INNOCENCE WE HAD

Once upon a time,
we had bright eyes,
that shone like morning dew
Our hearts free from dirts

The laughter echoed clearly
Like a ringing bell
For every household,
there's unbridled joy.

But time flew like a plane
taking with it our innocence
A clear heart became heavy
Burdened with worries and fear

Then uncertainties set in
Leaving behind a confused mind
The loud laughter restrained
Turning to a faint smile

Yet within, a glimmer remains,
the hope of joy we had
Deep down, the memories never fade
We knew we were once innocent.
