Houses provide comfort and serve as shelter. Houses are designed large and spacious for families. But in some communities and rural areas, they are built just to protect themselves from rain and sun.
Many today are able to own a home of their own. Still, there are a large number who live in rented buildings and properties. In the future, there may be need for more homes which suit the needs of a number of people of various backgrounds and lifestyle.
Paul manages his job well. As he meets with top ranking individuals who seeks for a home.
Now faced with the challenge of a community in need of houses that suit their needs. They want mordern homes which they can maintain with minimum cost.
Mr Paul is a real estate agent. He manages his job and has assisted many in getting a fine modern apartment. His office is part of a storey buildings where other businesses are managed.
The thought of making small residences has not come to his mind. Ever since he started the job, he has always met with men and women whom are high income earners. The estate he was in charge of holding were big with large rooms and beautiful and surroundings.
Whenever his clients come to him and he showed them the property, usually satisfied with the size. Sometimes it does not suit their needs.
His job only refer to the snobs because they were the ones who could afford those homes. These homes were designed to meet their desires for comfort and their enjoyment.
One day, he visited an area which was sparsely populated with scattered settlements. He was invited to inspect the local area that were in need of homes of their houses own comfort. Meeting with some of the residents there, they were not seeking for large enormous buildings around themselves.
Some were farmers, teachers and those who possess vocational skills and traders. What would he do to solve the housing challenges of that neighborhood. The buildings there were very old and no longer mordern. They use pit latrines and the bathrooms were ordinary. There was only two or three homes with water supply were the people get water for use daily.
The surrounding were no longer neat. The windows are of wood and doors as well. The roofing sheets are wearing out and when it rains water may enter the rooms. There was no kitchen. The women would usually put their stoves or gas cylinder by the corridor to cook. At other occasions, they would set woods outside to prepare their meals.
A teacher, Mr Abraham who lived in the neighborhood met Mr Paul. He mentioned that the people were in need of mordern homes. But they should be affordable and more than their means of living. We like simplicity and we do want to do things beyond our means of living and what we can maintain. Large apartment might be too expensive for us to maintain compare to what we earn, said Mr Abraham.
So what kind of homes do you need here?
