THE HERDSMEN
When egrets you see, gayly
floating low in sky, or fluttering
loosely on proximate fields, you
must know, ruthless herdsmen
are few feets away, take to your
heels and rush away!
.
As oft as 'round here they roam,
in these bushes to graze; fearfully,
the community recoils; for, with
impunity they raze our ripened
farms; begetting regrets for the
victims -yet, authorities forget
us on the crossroads of neglect.
.
Where sabres swing, who can dare
to call a spade a spade; where
daggers dart, who can dare to rise
at bay? Before the guns which give
them fun, who can flourish pectus?
Who can dare to slid hand in a
cobra's maw?
.
When egrets you see, gayly
floating low in sky, or fluttering
loosely on proximate fields, you
must take to your heels and rush
away, for -the bloods of our siblings
were splashed upon the seedlings.
Our fathers, mothers, our sons and
wives, our daughters -slaughtered
on these farmlands.
