THE GEOGRAPHY OF THE MIND
A Reflection from the SIMU Collection.
Most of us live our entire lives as quiet prisoners of the soil we were born on
victims of geographical circumstance, inheriting limits we never chose.
Our worldview, our scope, our sense of possibility
is sculpted by the streets that raised us,
the voices that surrounded us,
the window through which we first saw the world.
And too often,
we mistake that first window for the whole horizon.
We walk through life wearing borrowed philosophies
as if they were tailored to our souls.
We adopt inherited concepts of reality
like handed-down garments
ill-fitting, outdated,
yet worn with the confidence of ownership.
We cling to the familiar,
to the comfort of what we know,
to the safety of the known world
even when it cages us.
Because unfamiliar freedom feels more frightening
than familiar confinement.
But truth?
Truth is a landscape far wider than the coordinates of our birth.
The mind was never meant to be territorial.
It was meant to roam
to cross borders of thought,
to challenge inherited maps,
to redraw the lines we live by.
Somewhere beyond the window you were given
is a world your soul has been dreaming of.
Step toward it.
Break the web.
Shift the angle.
Let life reveal itself
from more than one direction.
