The corn tree was planted by a planter
On his best portion of land
This land, so fecund!
So much that the corn tree grows
Without irrigation and organic manure
It germinates
So well, It germinates
Very well, it germinates
The corns multiply in folds
in folds, it multiplies
Until the arrival of the mistletoe Who took over the farm
Being so domineering
demolishing the crop for its grains.
O! this is too much to bear
The corn tree bemoans
So, the corn becomes poisonous
So that The mistletoe can no longer feed on it
Then it flees from the corn tree
Though it has yet to mature
So exultant the corn tree is
But just for a while.
The Beetles arise suddenly from the corn tree
And begin to devour it
for its survival and health
Here comes the corn tree
Panicking and calling
The mistletoe to come to its rescue
WHAT a COUNTRY!
