Days turned into weeks, and I couldn't shake off the feeling of being lost. Josh's apology seemed sincere, but I couldn't trust him again. And then, there were the texts from both Josh and Steve, asking me out. I felt like I was being pulled in two different directions.
But as I reflected on my feelings, I realized that I had been blind to Steve's affection for me. He had always been there for me, supporting me, making me laugh. And when I thought about it, I realized that I had developed feelings for him too.
One day, I decided to take a chance and text Steve. "Hey, can we talk?" I asked.
We met at a quiet café, and I told him everything - about Josh's betrayal, about my confusion, about my feelings for him.
Steve listened attentively, his eyes filled with understanding. "I've always been here for you, March," he said. "I'll always be here for you."
I smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "I want to try," I said. "I want to date you, Steve."
Steve's face lit up with a radiant smile. "Really?" he asked, his voice filled with excitement.
I nodded, and he took my hand, his touch sending shivers down my spine.
As we started dating, I realized that Steve was right for me. He was kind, genuine, and loving. He made me feel seen and heard in a way that Josh never did.
I finally felt like I was healing, like I was moving on from the chaos of my past. And I knew that I owed it all to Steve, my rock, my confidant, my love.
But little did I know, Josh wasn't ready to let me go just yet...
Just as things were falling into place with Steve, my life was turned upside down again. I received a mysterious message from an unknown number: "You think you can just move on from me? I'll never let that happen." I tried to brush it off as a prank, but the words sent a chill down my spine. And then, strange things started happening. I'd find Josh's favorite coffee mug on my doorstep, or see his car parked outside my house. It was as if he was watching me, waiting for me to slip up. Steve noticed my unease and asked me what was wrong, but I couldn't bring myself to tell him. I didn't want to ruin our newfound happiness. But the messages continued, each one more menacing than the last. I felt like I was walking on eggshells, never knowing when Josh would strike next. And then, one night, I came home to find my front door open, and Josh standing in my living room...
"March, we need to talk," Josh said, his voice low and menacing. I tried to stay calm, but my heart was racing. Steve was away on a trip, and I was alone.
"What do you want, Josh?" I asked, trying to sound firm.
"You think you can just move on from me?" he repeated, his eyes flashing with anger. "You think Steve is better than me?"
I took a step back, trying to create some distance between us. "Josh, please. Just leave me alone."
But he kept coming, his movements slow and deliberate. "You're mine, March. You'll always be mine."
Suddenly, my phone rang, shrill in the silence. It was Steve. "Hey, baby. I just landed. I'll be home soon."
Josh's eyes narrowed. "Tell him not to bother."
I hesitated, unsure of what to do. But something in Josh's eyes scared me. "Tell him not to bother," I repeated, my voice barely above a whisper.
Josh smiled, a cold, cruel smile. "Good girl."
And then, he turned and walked away, leaving me shaken and confused. What did he want from me? And why couldn't he just leave me alone?
I was still shaken when Steve arrived home. "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, noticing the look on my face.
I told him everything - about Josh's visit, the messages, the feeling of being watched. Steve listened, his face growing darker with each passing moment.
"That's it," he said, when I finished. "I'm going to the police."
But I stopped him. "No, Steve. I don't want to involve the police. I just want Josh to leave me alone."
Steve nodded, understanding. "Okay, but I'm not going to let him hurt you. I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe."
And then, he did something that surprised me. He called Josh.
"Listen, Josh," Steve said, his voice firm. "Leave March alone. She's with me now, and I won't let you hurt her."
There was a pause, and then Steve continued. "I know you think you love her, but you're sick, Josh. You need help. And if you don't leave her alone, I'll make sure you get it."
The next day, the messages stopped. Josh disappeared, and I was finally able to breathe again.
Steve and I grew closer, our love blossoming in the aftermath of the chaos. We knew we had each other's backs, no matter what.
And as for Josh? He got the help he needed, and eventually, he moved on with his life.
I was finally free, free to love Steve with all my heart. And I knew that no matter what life threw our way, we'd face it together, as long as we had each other but my big brother that big headed social health monster arrested Josh just for 2 years. For more stories please like avd place a comment
