"The Barking Dog's Lament"

A canine chorus, shrill and cold,
Echoes through the streets, young and old,
A symphony of envy's sting,
As I rise, their discontent takes wing.

With every step, their yelps resound,
A cacophony of jealousy profound,
Their tails once wagging, now hung low,
As my success makes their hearts grow slow.

Like autumn leaves, their pride withers away,
As I bloom, radiant, in the fray,
Their snarls and growls, a futile cry,
Against the tide of my ascending sky.

Their eyes, once bright, now dim with spite,
Reflect the fire that fuels their night,
A burning envy that consumes their soul,
As I shine, and they're left in the cold.

Like a mirage, their dreams dissolve,
As mine take shape, and begin to evolve,
Their barks, a desperate, fading plea,
To stop my rise, and set them free.

But still I climb, unshaken and tall,
While they, in anguish, hear their own fall,
Their cries, a requiem for lost delight,
As I soar, leaving their envy in the night.
