Thank You for the sun that rises each day,
even when I wake up feeling tired.
Thank You for the daily bread
I never really think about
the food I eat,
the strength I have,
the air I breathe.
Thank You for light that does not ask questions.
It does not wait for me to be ready.
It just shows up.
Thank You for the smiles
on the faces of my loved ones,
even on the days I don’t have the strength
to smile back.
Thank You for the sun
that refuses to give up on the sky
even when the night
looks like it will never end.
Thank You for always choosing me
even when I struggle to choose myself.
When I doubt.
When I feel weak.
Thank you for mercy
I did not earn.
For grace
I cannot explain.
Thank You for being God
steady and faithful,
even when my life feels uncertain.
Even when I do not understand
You remain.
