TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF BEFORE YOU'RE TAKEN CARE OF

Oftentimes, we’re saddled with responsibilities and deadlines that demand our energy, time, and focus. Even when our health is at risk, we push through, convinced that the task must be completed.

Even when stress creeps in, we keep ploughing forward.

But pause for a moment…
What if you break down in the process?
What if your health starts to deteriorate?
What if you can no longer move forward with your goals?
What if you end up in the hospital before the work is done?

The work will still be there.
But where will you be?

Stress is not something to ignore, it’s a loud signal. It’s the body saying NO to what it's always endured. It's the fatigue that weighs heavy, the sleepless nights, the mental fog, the irritability, the burnout.

It’s a call to pause.

We need to prioritise our mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Creating time for rest, sleep, leisure, and self-care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Yes, we have goals. Yes, we have responsibilities.
But overworking can blur our vision, lead to anxiety, and steal our joy.

So what can we do?

- Plan your time wisely

- Prioritise tasks by importance
- Apply the Kaizen principle : focus on continuous, manageable improvement
- Use the Pomodoro technique :break tasks into focused sprints with timed breaks
- Be honest with your limits
- Make rest a routine, not a reward

As students, professionals, or entrepreneurs, we must listen to our bodies and honour our need for balance. Your body isn’t a machine. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

So, take a break.
Recharge.
Breathe.
Stretch.
Sleep.
Laugh.
Live.

Work must be done and done well but your health comes first.
