The Algorithm Of Heaven's Media

The silence, Christian discovered, was far more demanding than the noise. When he had been loud and careless, the spiritual world had been quick to respond, either with the thunder of correction or the lightning flash of conviction. But now, in his self-imposed review period, Heaven was quiet.
He was diligent. He avoided the small, petty lies that were so easy to tell. He controlled the irritation that rose in his chest when the local water vendor, Abubakar, was late, and he even managed to pray for Bro. Kunle without a hint of envy. He was keeping his account clean, doing all the maintenance the FAQ had instructed.
Yet, there was no feedback. The shadowban was not instantly lifted. He would post his morning prayer, a genuine, heart-felt cry for endurance, and nothing. No quick "Hallelujah" from the angels, no subtle push notification of peace. Just the quiet hum of the ceiling fan and the reality that his spiritual content was still not reaching the main feed.
This dryness, I, Segun, could feel even in the thin thread of my dream. It was like watching a character I created struggle through a maze, and I, the dreamer, could only shout advice that went unheard. The struggle was so real, the frustration so raw, that sometimes I’d wake up in the middle of the night and reach for my own phone, just to check if a notification from Heaven's Media could pop up on his behalf but all that stared at me were my android apps. There was a fear in my heart, It was the human fear of putting in work and receiving no reward, magnified by the stakes of eternity.
One particularly tedious afternoon, Christian decided he was tired of the silence. He lay on his bed, the Phone of Destiny heavy in his hand, feeling like a content creator whose best work was being suppressed.
“Wetin be this na?” he sighed, rolling over. “I’ve been consistent. I’m pure. At least give me small likes to show say una dey see me!”
As he grumbled, he lazily opened the Heaven’s Media app. The usual tabs were there: FaithBook (The Feed), Praystagram (Short Prayers/Meditation), Kingdom Tok (Short Reels of Obedience). But right next to the Reels tab, an icon, shaped like an ancient scroll, flickered. It was a tab he had never noticed before: Eternal Stories.
To be continued.
