CHRIST-AFRICA Condemns Ongoing Attacks in Bokkos and Bassa, Calls for Urgent Government Action
Bokkos/Bassa, Plateau State, Nigeria — CHRIST-AFRICA strongly condemns the recent wave of violent attacks carried out by armed marauders in Bokkos and Bassa Local Government Areas, which have resulted in the tragic loss of innocent lives and the displacement of numerous indigenous residents.
The organization decries the continuous targeting of unarmed civilians, many of them Christian indigenes—whose homes and communities have been reduced to rubble amidst a wave of senseless destruction and bloodshed. These attacks are not isolated events but a pattern of orchestrated violence that demands immediate intervention.
“The cries of the people echo across the land,” said a spokesperson for CHRIST-AFRICA. “We cannot remain silent in the face of such injustice. The suffering endured by these communities is heartbreaking and unacceptable. It is the moral duty of the federal government and all relevant security agencies to act decisively to protect lives and restore peace.”
CHRIST-AFRICA is calling for:
Immediate deployment of security forces to affected areas
Thorough investigation and prosecution of those responsible
Comprehensive support for displaced persons and survivors
Long-term peacebuilding strategies and protection of indigenous communities
CHRIST-AFRICA remains steadfast in its commitment to defending human dignity, promoting justice, and amplifying the voices of the oppressed. The organization stands in solidarity with all who suffer from these atrocities, offering prayers, support, and advocacy in their time of need.
“We urge the government to let justice roll like a river—pure, swift, and true—and for peace to descend upon our land like a dove,” the statement concluded.
