I don't know how to greet people who have recently lost a love
I meet them on the street, market, their homes
I do want to be insensitive to pretend that nothing has happened
Still I fear that I remind them of the loss and amplify the grief they carry around
In me. Outside. In them.
Conflict. Confusion. Misunderstanding, Irritation.
I am truly sorry. I do not want you to be sorry.

I prefer to be lost than to lose.
