Honey and Ginger Tea Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced thinly
- 1 tablespoon of pure, raw honey
- 1 cup of water
- 1 lemon slice or 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice (optional)
- Honeycomb or additional honey for serving (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the ginger
Peel the ginger using a spoon or a vegetable peeler, and slice it thinly.
Step 2: Combine ginger and water
In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced ginger and water.
Step 3. Heat and simmer
Heat the mixture over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the ginger is tender and the liquid has reduced slightly.
Step 4. Strain the tea
Strain the tea into a large mug or a teapot using a fine-mesh sieve or a piece of cheesecloth. Discard the ginger slices.
Step 5. Add honey and lemon
Add the honey to the tea and stir until it's fully dissolved. If desired, add a slice of lemon or a squeeze of lemon juice.
Step 6. Serve and enjoy
Serve the tea hot, garnished with an additional slice of lemon or a drizzle of honey, if desired.
