SHE FADES AWAY

Eyelids dropping, colours fading,
Faces with weary lips and ugly shadings.
In piles of scattered leaves, a woman lies,
In the grip of anguish, her spirit cries.
Wobbled legs won't get her up,
Nor the pain of what's to come.
Angry faces, dreaming of seeing death,
Hoping to embrace him when he comes.
So, she runs,
From the pain she hates to share.
She's on her knees,
Praying for her sins of yesterday.
She sheds tears, for a life that would soon end,
And for the beauty that once did appear.
Hoping at the end it'll be okay,
She fades away.
