SHE DIED BEFORE DAWN

I walked out of the woods,
Holding herbs in my hand, and some in my mouth,
My shaman had instructed.
And to win, I must limp on one foot, across the desert
and beside the stream's murmurs...
Only so, I can save my life's life...
But there was no desert, just sounds of death whistling...
and scorpions, it's more than hostile...
Nonetheless, I must get home before, before she's gone
But she was going anyway...
The cards, I didn't play well,
I'd created a life within hell,
And recuperating, my cells won't...
Sat in the dark, clouded and blurry..
Waiting for luck to strike my side,
Alas! I was late by an inch, and
She died before dawn!
Everything just crumbled down,
My life's life was no more...
