Yobe State is once again celebrating a triumph of visionary leadership as Sen. Ibrahim M. Bomai, representing Yobe South Senatorial District, sponsors 51 students to pursue higher education in India, marking the first batch of his groundbreaking 100-student international scholarship scheme.

The beneficiaries, drawn from the four local government areas of Potiskum, Fune, Fika, and Nangere, departed Abuja International Airport today, each fully funded by Senator Bomai—including tuition, accommodation, and travel allowances—alongside personal dollar support gifts to ease their settlement abroad.

The gesture has triggered an outpouring of appreciation and admiration across Yobe State, transcending political and regional divides. Citizens, community leaders, and commentators hailed the initiative as a bold investment in human capital and a testament to Bomai’s unmatched commitment to education, youth development, and democratic service.

Baba Buji Zanna Garga, a respected voice from Yobe East, described Senator Bomai as “a beacon of hope and a symbol of responsible leadership.”

“Though I’m not from Yobe South, I’m deeply moved by Senator Bomai’s action. He has redefined representation—turning the dreams of the poor into real opportunities. His initiative will inspire others to lead with empathy and purpose,” he said.

Observers note that Senator Bomai’s legacy of performance—from educational empowerment to community infrastructure—aligns perfectly with Governor Mai Mala Buni’s vision of rebuilding Yobe through knowledge, innovation, and inclusivity.

Parents of the departing scholars expressed overwhelming gratitude, describing the opportunity as life-changing.

“My daughter is among those leaving for India today. Senator Bomai has changed our story. He is not only a senator—he’s a father to the less privileged,” said Hajiya Falmata from Fika.

The international scholarship, according to analysts, will produce a new generation of globally trained professionals who will return to accelerate Yobe’s socio-economic development.

From Potiskum to Fune, Fika to Nangere, and beyond, Senator Bomai’s name now echoes as a builder of dreams and a custodian of hope—one whose legacy continues to inspire unity, progress, and educational renaissance across the state.
