Running a Business and Staying Creative... How?

I am sure many people will ask this question because how can you run a business, work 9-5, go to school, learn a skill/trade, do some side gigs, and still provide your audience with creative contents? Hearing all these seems so unreal but it’s in fact real and possible. You just need to be able to make them work. The question here is: how? How do you perform this magic?
Hi again, Gold here and I bring another content on managing your work time and still be productive at the end of the day/week.
Before I start, happy new month, guys. I pray this month will be a month of celebration for all of us 😊
If you notice, I didn’t make any content because I have been choked up with so many things. A lot happened in the past couple of weeks and I want to thank GOD for life and for keeping me. things might not be that easy, seeing as what is happening here in Nigeria. The hike in food prices and things generally. It’s a lot, but I thank GOD for provision and for keeping me again.
In August, wow, it’s been so long.
In August, I attended the youth program hosted by my church annually, and it was great. I think I mentioned the role I played in that in my previous post. I will attach the BTS video below or post it as a reel in a separate post.
I also served as one of the media crews in the celebration of Bishop David Oyedepo. A great man and wonderful father.
Well, enough about what I’ve been up too lately, let’s dive into the purpose of this post.
How do you manage running a business and staying creative? A writer asked me this question recently, and frankly, I was drawing on blank because it is quite challenging to balance all these coupled with school [if you are in school] and all those.
Everyone has various ways they balance things for themselves, but I will share how I manage to do that.
First, I always try to know what I want to do or achieve that week. Try to set your priorities. Do you want to learn a new skill this month? Do you have a long-awaited project that needs to be off your bucket list? Do you want to have huge sales in your business? Knowing what has to be done will help you set small goals that can help you achieve the big goals.
Last month, school started, which is cool and stressful at the same time. Also last month, someone requested some Shambala; I had to update my course, write, and still have time to read so I can submit my schoolwork. How did I go about all these?
What I did here was to look for at least three simple things I can do and merge them with just one hard thing to do for a day. I took note of the time that I am mostly productive, and that helped me flesh out certain times I can carry each task, so I don’t get overwhelmed or too tired to do the needful.
I have to read to complete my assignment; I have to list my Shambalas and wigs online and promote them so people can patronize me; I have to do some research in order for me to update my course and provide my students with good and knowledgeable contents; I have to make progress in the writing course I am taking online; I have to write my own books so I can update the chapters and not keep my readers hanging for too long; I also need to look for new authors who want to sign with the foreign platforms I am affiliated with; and many more.
That sounds like a lot to do, yet somehow, I find myself actively doing most of them.
What should I do? School week starts on Thursday, so I have to read that week's coursework so that I can attempt the questions given, prepare my paper, and submit days before the week ends, which is the Wednesday of the next week. Doing this will give me a chance to do other things because when I have my assignment done and submitted, I can read ahead of the next week and focus on other things.
The second is to create promotional videos and content after listing my products for sale online. I also have to tell people I know so they can refer customers to me too. After my promotional content is ready, I post to my various social media accounts and try to post what I sell to engage my audience and keep them checking till they find what they want to buy.
Next is for me to do my little research so I can update my course, then tackle the assignment I am to submit for the course on writing I am taking. Then I have to make time to write my book, even if it’s just for an hour, and search for authors who want to work with the company.
Now that I have listed what I can do to achieve my goals, I need to break them down and attach them to each day.
In a day I might choose to research for my course; while doing that, I can take a lesson or two from my writing course and use an hour or two to write as many chapters as I can write for my book. If I am going to relax for a while, when I watch skits on Instagram or food videos on Facebook, I can use that to post my promotional contents on my social media account, to get engagement and search for authors who want to work with the company. That is for one day.
The next day can be me reading for my assignment or attempting my assignment after I must have read the coursework for the week at home, then I can upload my course content I have prepared from my research and update the course for my students, then publish my book chapters on the various book platforms its on. I can also submit the assignment when I am through with it and repeat the process again.
If I have more time and have done the needful, I can take a course or complete the ones I have started on other skills I want to have aside from writing.
Yes, it’s not easy, but if you can do well to manage your time and set small, achievable goals, you'll achieve the bigger ones before you know it.
This post is super long but I hope it answered questions regarding this you might have and also helped you learn one or two things about me and just basic things you should know.
Thanks once again for sticking. Don’t worry, I’ll do my best to keep writing contents like this, and if you like this and want me to talk more about things like this, send a DM or comment what I should talk about.
Also, make sure to like, share, and follow my page for more of this. It’s a journey, and I’d be glad for you all to join me.
Thank you and GOD bless.
Check my next reel for the BTS video.
Have no idea why I used that image.
